Letters to Juliet (3 of 3)
Monday, November 15, 2010 at 12:54PM Resource Summary
In this cute romantic comedy, Sophie, on behalf of Juliet, answers a 50 year old letter of regret, prompting Claire to come to Italy to find her long lost true love Lorenzo. After having a 'pre-honeymoon' in which she didn't spend any time with her fiance, Sophie confronts Victor about their relationship, breaking up with him because she doesn't "know what this is anymore." This break-up and its causes reminds us that love, a word we toss around quite easily, doesn't just refer to a feeling or a state of being but rather truly refers to an act of will, a choice, a verb: love is something we do, not something we're 'in.'
